Former Vice President Al Gore, who warned this week that climate change was leading to 'atomic bombs exploding every day,' has made extreme predictions in the past.

Climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore recently went on an 'unhinged' rant on the dangers of climate change at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

"We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said.

However, the Arctic ice cap hasn't been eliminated at any point over the last decade. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Arctic ice minimum extent, or ice coverage during the warmest month of the year, is declining at 12.6% per decade.
