AKRON, Ohio - Halfway through his first 100 days as mayor, Shammas Malik discussed a 100 day plan for the beginning of his duties and launched an onlineThe plan debuted 74 action items and was created during the transition process in 2023, according a press release from the mayor’s office.
“We’re halfway through the first 100 days, and we’re excited at the progress being made both in accomplishing operational tasks for the city but also beginning the work of broader objectives such as violence intervention, universal pre-K, and better engagement with residents,” Malik said. the plan includes hiring a team for the new administration, modernizing city operations and prioritizing communications and public engagement.
“The beginning of any administration helps set the tone for the rest of the work to follow,” Malik said.
