Flying home today for the holiday? ✈️ Travel headaches could start before you even set foot in the airport terminal.

Limited flights increased airfares, but even that hasn’t stopped the demand for travel.between October 2021 and August 2022, 30% more than airport officials expected.

Traffic will peak the Sunday after Thanksgiving with more than 320,000 scheduled seats on flights. TSA expects about 70,000 people a day to come through DFW Airport checkpoints on the busiest days. On Friday, as the Thanksgiving rush began, Love Field’s A and B parking lots were about 75% full and the third lot was about half full.

“It’s definitely been really busy,” Bugay said. “We are finding that more people are wanting to drive their own vehicles to the airport.”
