Amarillo does not have a Planned Parenthood clinic, but Kacsmaryk’s presence has made the city a conservative case magnet.“The court was very deliberate in asking questions on sort of all of the key issues in the case. We’re making sure that the judge is fully apprised of the arguments, the law,” Manning said.It is possible Kacsmaryk could send the Planned Parenthood case to trial rather than issuing a summary ruling. Should that happen, Manning said her team feels confident in their argument.

Texas wants Planned Parenthood to give back millions of dollars in Medicaid reimbursements — and pay far more in fines on top of that — in a lawsuit that appears to be the first of its kind brought by a state against the largest abortion provider in the U.S.
