Last summer, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton joined a coalition of states across the U.S. in settling lawsuits against the U.S.’s three largest pharmaceutical manufacturers, Johnson & Johnson, AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson. The state will receive about $1.5 billion over nearly 18 years to fight the opioid epidemic, according to the terms of the settlements.

The city of Plano is in line for about $1.5 million worth of the state’s haul, and Collin County will get another $1.2 million.
