Legendary South Plainfield coach Don Panzarella won his 800th career game and still has the same passion for the game as he did 41 years ago.

Panzarella has worked hard over the years at keeping his players together and playing with each other in the offseason. That’s, in his opinion, the root of his program’s success. Those three GMC titles join the eight sectional championships and three state titles on Panzarella’s resume. “I was telling my girls ‘Listen, this is my hometown. We have to bring it to him. No holding back here, we have to win.’ Unfortunately, we lost,” she said.
