The man accused of a mass killing that left four adults and a child dead in a home near Cleveland is expected to appear before San Jacinto County judge on Thursday morning, according to officials at the district clerk's office.
The initial appearance for 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza in the 411th District Court comes nearly two weeks since. A manhunt for him following the killings stretched on for four days and ended with help from a tipster. Authorities found him hiding under a pile of laundry at a building near a relative’s Montgomery County home.
He is being held at the San Jacinto County jail pending trial. His court-appointed defense lawyer is Anthony Osso.
