Dr. Richard Rhodes has served as Austin Community College Chancellor for 12 years, overseeing the district's growth to 11 campuses.

Chancellor Richard Rhodes will now join Texas A&M University as interim president of its Central Texas campus.

Rhodes is set to take on the role on October 1 pending approval by the Board of Regents. He will be replacing inaugural president Marc Nigliazzo, who announced his retirement in June. Rhodes has served as ACC chancellor for 12 years, overseeing the district's growth to 11 campuses and a more than 168% increase in the number of degrees earned by students.
