Abbotsford police arrest prolific offender on Highway One

The statement said the suspect, Tyson Zackary Fust, fled from the vehicle and was tracked down by a police dog, leading to his arrest. A second person, the passenger, remained near the vehicle and was not arrested. Police said the stolen vehicle caught fire because of sparks caused by driving on rims, after the tires were punctured.

Fust, 29, is facing charges of failing to comply with his probation, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and dangerous driving. Police said Fust is a prolific offender and remains in custody. A stolen vehicle caught fire after a spike belt deployed by Abbotsford police deflated its tires, creating friction between the steel rims and the pavement. Police said on they took the driver, 29-year-old Tyson Zackary Fust, into custody after he fled on foot on March 19, 2023.
