ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Premier Andrew Furey will deliver apologies to residential school survivors and family members in the five Labrador Inuit communities and Happy Valley-Goose Bay beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
“It is a significant moment in our history,” Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation Minister Lisa Dempster told reporters outside the House of Assembly in St. John’s on Tuesday.“It is the premier’s apology of the province, and so I am here, as you know, with House duties as the deputy government House leader,” Dempster explained.
