received the music video treatment today .
The retro pop song is decorated with percussion-heavy flourishes and dressed in an airy illustration of longing for someone, as an interpretive dancer glides across an empty room with open windows and flirts with the fanning white curtains. Vocalist Zachary Charles wistfully croons, “I just want to be where you are / ‘Cause it hurts like hell, right here, right now” in the chorus as the dancer emphatically skirts around the room.
The drapes float against her body in a beautiful display of tension that the song further emphasizes between the separated lovers. Even though Charles sings within the second verse, “Oh, it’s not fair / That all the stars and the moon and the trees can see you dance,” she captures the singular gaze of the viewer with her mesmerizing movements.
