Four conditions : 1) males starved for 24 h before test, in an arena without food; 2) malesfed with standard fly food containing protein and carbohydrates before test, in an arena without food; 3) males starved for 24 h before test, in an arena with sucrose-containing food; 4) males starved for 24 h before test, in an arena with amino acids-containing food. Each arena also contained one virgin female.
