Poetry used in a dispute over bullying
The Mayor of Boston called another councillor a ‘louse’ and suggested he was jealous of her as she accused them of a “co-ordinated campaign of bullying” on her during a council meeting on Monday.
It followed several questions to the mayor from Councillor Ashton during the course of the evening, which targeted her balance and her openness and transparency in the role of mayor. “In the email I comment your behaviour appears to be part of a coordinated campaign of bullying and harassment towards me and I asked you to stop yet here you are, again,” she said.“What would it take for you to just leave me alone?” She asked.
She went on to claim that she had “reinvented” the role of mayor to make it “relevant for the 21st century” and that she had ensured protocols which had “slipped so badly under recent mayors” were reinstated.
