The Holistic Camps for Teens goes each morning March 13 to 16
It was over a coffee that Lynn Marie Mattie and Leana Todd put together the curriculum for their new March Break camp for teens which will include breathing and meditation, learning about astrology in a fun interactive way, playing drama games, holistic health education and yoga. Richard MacKenzieTRURO, N.S. — Along with the usual March Break events there are for teens inand area comes a first-time one covering topics and activities not normally associated with the age group.
“Through experiencing relaxation techniques and movement exercise, your teen will learn to have self-awareness and listen to their body,” the poster reads. “They will get to learn about fun astrology topics including sign, elements, season, plants and bodies, and lunar cycles and eclipses.” “So it's recognizing again, just like I talked about in our bodies, we listen to the ‘hot-cold’, the ‘wet-dry’, ‘is it tight or is it loose’ … what's going on with us. There's a parallel of what's going on with us and what's going on with the earth, with the seasons.”
“I just love their energy and hanging out with them. And my kids are teenagers now too, so this just seems like a really good fit,” Todd said, adding teens are more “savvy” than they’re often given credit for.
