The recipients of the A Common Thread direct grants include Alabama Chanin, Fe Noel, Glemaud, Alejandra Alonso Rojas, Merlette, Indigenous Designs Corporation, and Fabscrap, among others. “We are so grateful for all of the generous donations that have allowed us to distribute a second round of grants to businesses in need,” said Anna Wintour,editor in chief, U.S. Artistic Director and Global Content Advisor, Condé Nast in a statement.

“The global pandemic continues to impact the entire fashion industry, which needs our support now more than ever,” said Tom Ford, chairman of the CFDA, in a statement. “This second round of funding allows us to help additional brands, retailers, and factories through the severe challenges of this time.

In addition, A Common Thread is receiving a $500,000 donation facilitated through the CFDA’s Fashion Manufacturing Initiative, Andrew Rosen, and Ralph Lauren for manufacturers specifically in New York City. The total sum of funds raised for A Common Thread is now $4.9 million.
