UPDATE: CHP officials say a silver Honda Accord was struck multiple times by gunfire, and a 7-year-old passenger riding in the back seat sustained a non-life threatening injury.
VACAVILLE, Calif. -- CHP officials are investigating a shooting that happened on Interstate 80 in Vacaville Monday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to the highway west of Alamo Drive at 4:19 p.m. to a report of a shooting with injuries. They say a silver Honda Accord was struck multiple times by gunfire, and a 7-year-old passenger riding in the back seat sustained a non-life threatening injury. The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Detectives assigned to the CHP Golden Gate Division Special Investigations Unit have assumed primary investigative responsibility for this incident.
