of professional misconduct by filing multiple federal lawsuits alleging election fraud.
That day, when a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, Cruz led a group of senators who objected to the certified results from Arizona and Pennsylvania, demanding a “10-day emergency audit” that he insisted was justified to address Trump supporters’ skepticism about the outcome. Paxton filed Texas’ lawsuit the next day against the four swing states. Trump asked Cruz to represent him at the Supreme Court in that litigation, and Cruz agreed.Both lawsuits were short-lived.
