Residents can buy brick pavers to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Teri WebsterAn approximately $624,000 construction project at Plano’s Memorial Park Donor Recognition Plaza will include a way for residents to honor active duty members and veterans of the U.S. military.
The project will involve the removal and reconstruction of the looped trail around the park’s oval lawn area, according to a. The looped trail will have a plaza, seating area and about 8,000 brick pavers available for city residents to purchase to recognize those who have served with the U.S. Armed Forces.
The project will also feature new pavement, trees, planting beds, seating area and a sculptural element, according to the memo. “I really appreciate the work that the city and citizens have done for the veterans of this community and for bringing this attention to everyone so that we can honor them,” said Council Member Rick Grady,The estimated total cost of $623,904 will leave a current year balance of $2,939,915 for other parks improvement work.
