Several of the original The Last of Us video game actors appear in The Last of Us season 1 - and some cameos are more obvious than others.
HBO's The Last of Us season 1 features cameos from many of the original game's actors, with some appearances more obvious than others. The Last of Us follows Joel Miller as he transports teenager Ellie Williams across the post-apocalyptic United States, trying to get her to the rebel Fireflies, so they can use her immunity to cure the cordyceps infection.
"I think there was a heavier stillness to her that ended up coming through, which surprised me, because I think I've always remembered and understood her as in front of the microphone with a fist in the air and all of that. But there was the weathered-ness of the 20 years of living in this very dark world and not knowing whether or not another side is actually going to happen.
In The Last of Us video game, James is portrayed by stuntman Reuben Langdon. The role was expanded for the TV series, with James questioning David's authority but never completely going against him. Baker told IGN on Mazin and Neil Druckmann giving him the role of James, “I would be happy if I’d just been a clicker." He also said that when he heard Pedro Pascal had been cast as Joel, he though, "Oh, well, we're bulletproof now.
