15 people were shot in 10 separate incidents across New York City on Monday
Earlier that day, a 38-year-old man was shot in the foot at Nassau Street near Gold Street in downtown Brooklyn. That victim is expected to survive.Over in the Longwood section of the Bronx, a fatal shooting claimed the life of a 27-year-old, who was fatally struck around 2:30 p.m. Officials found the victim on Longfellow Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head.
"I just ran to him, just dropped everything applied pressure to his neck, and I was just talking to him," a neighbor of the victim told Eyewitness News.A similar scenario unfolded outside a bodega on White Plains Road in the Williamsbridge section of the same borough, where a 48-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the back.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.In Harlem, a 38-year-old male was shot and killed Monday night outside 230 West 140th Street. No arrests have been made in that shooting as well. An arrest is also pending in a shooting that took place a couple of miles away in Washington Heights, where three women were shot in Riverbank State Park. All were struck in the legs and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police say none of the victims - ages 19, 20 and 28 - are believed to be the intended targets.
An investigation into each of these separate incidents is ongoing, with the NYPD investigating exactly what led up to them.
