All four New York suspects were charged with conspiring to commit kidnapping, authorities said.
On April 7, a judge ordered three other suspects — Fa Deng, 42, of Staten Island, Albert Ferrelli, 50, and Chiahao Lee, 30, both of Queens — detained following hearings in the same court. All three were also charged with conspiring to commit kidnapping.
The kidnappers sent the victim’s wife a photo showing her husband bound and duct-taped and demanded a $680,000 ransom, a special agent with the FBI said in a criminal complaint. A neighbor called police after seeing suspicious men in the home, and officers found what appeared to be duct tape with pieces of latex gloves stuck to it at the scene.
Later that night, New York City police responded to Prince Street in Queens for a 911 call of someone screaming and possibly tied up, according to the complaint. “When NYPD officers approached Ferrelli, they heard a man screaming for help from inside the building,” the FBI agent’s sworn statement said. “The officers entered the premises and located , who was blindfolded with his hands bound, and duct tape over his mouth and eyes.”
