A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged for a stabbing which left a woman critically injured.
According to the Houston Police Department, James L. Farmer, 47, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the Oct. 19 stabbing.Police said officers responded to a call of a citizen chasing a vehicle reported to have an unconscious and injured woman and a male suspect inside. Officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop along the 18800 block of the North Freeway and detained Farmer.
Police said officers saw the woman in the back seat of the vehicle with multiple stab wounds and rendered aid until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported her to the hospital. Farmer was determined to be impaired and believed to have ingested an unknown narcotic substance. He was transported to an area hospital to be treated.The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Farmer was subsequently charged.
