Mark Mulligan/Staff photographerThe 4-year-old was staying at the hotel with his family when he drowned in the pool around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a statement by Moody Gardens. Authorities were called and CPR was performed onsite before the child was taken by ambulance to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He was hospitalized Saturday night and most of the day Sunday before he died Sunday afternoon, according to the hotel.
Galveston police identified the child as Asher Rayburn of Paris, which is about two hours northeast of Dallas,
