Four students have been charged and a school district superintendent has resigned after a recorded attack against a teen in the hallway of her school spread on social media.
One juvenile was charged with aggravated assault, two were charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and one was charged with harassment, prosecutors inAll four juveniles and their guardians were given copies of the complaints, and they were released pending future court appearances, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in an email Saturday.
The charges come after the Central Regional School District announced Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides’ resignation Saturday.the Central Regional School District's Board of Education said, in part: "The Central Regional School District Board of Education has accepted the resignation of Dr. Triantafillos Parlapanides. The Central Regional family continues to mourn the loss of one of our children. We are all praying for the family and loved ones and our entire community.
. Dozens of students protested what they called a pattern of bullying and a lack of effort to address it.to parents that the protest interfered with "the learning process" and future "rallies" would need prior approval from the administration.
