Four of five former Memphis police officers charged with murder in the beating death of Tyre Nichols can no longer work as law enforcement in Tennessee.
Authorities in Memphis have released video showing Black motorist Tyre Nichols being beaten by police officers who held him down and repeatedly struck him with fists, batons and boots.
None of the fired officers or their attorneys attended their hearings before the commission on Thursday or its vote on Friday."It's a waste of time," attorney Blake Ballin said of the decertification attempt. "It is meaningless to him at this stage in his life."
