Gov. Jay Inslee said the decision to purchase the drug came as a Texas judge is about to issue a ruling ordering the FDA to reverse its approval of the abortion medication, mifepristone.
OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington state has purchased a three-year supply of abortion medication.
The shipment of the drug, which has been used safely for more than 20 years, arrived on Mar. 31, according to Inslee. Inslee said the decision to purchase the drug came as a Texas judge is about to issue a ruling ordering the FDA to reverse its approval of mifepristone, which would effectively end the ability of healthcare providers or pharmacists across the nation to buy the drug.
