3.9 magnitude Georgia earthquake felt as far south as Brunswick

WOW! Some Georgia residents were woken up to an earthquake this morning.

It comes a day after a 2.5 magnitude quake shook the area near Harlem in Columbia County.Earthquakes of this magnitude are rare for the Peach State, WKMG reported. There have only been 10 earthquakes reaching magnitude 3.

5 or greater there since 1903.“There have been 38 earthquakes in the state of Georgia over the last 365 days with this 3.9 magnitude earthquake being the strongest so far this year,” News4JAX meteorologist Danielle Uliano said.
