A ribbon cutting was held Friday morning.
A project to repair 40 structurally deficient bridges in Lancaster County is now complete.A ribbon cutting was held Friday morning at Big Conestoga Number 1 Bridge, the last of the bridges in the county to be repaired. The bridge replaced one that was built in 1914.The county spent $26 million on the project.
County commissioners say the project could end up saving the community money. 'All of our county bridges are now up to standard, and we'll just have to maintain them going forward. That means less funds expended, and it also means, you know, it'll just be better for people in the county, is they won't have to worry about delays or weight restrictions on the county bridges,' Commissioner Josh Parsons said.
