A woman is facing impaired driving charges after a two-vehicle collision in Niagara Falls that left a man dead.
A woman is facing impaired driving charges after a two-vehicle collision in Niagara Falls that left a man dead Tuesday morning.Niagara police said a westbound white 2009 Mercedes-Benz C350 collided with an eastbound beige 2009 Toyota Camry.
A 67-year-old man from Thorold driving the Toyota suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released. Meanwhile, police said the driver of the Mercedes did not sustain any injuries and was arrested at the scene. “Investigation has determined the driver of the Mercedes-Benz C350 was impaired by alcohol at the time of the collision,” police said.
The driver, identified as 25-year-old Zoey Anne Marie Hughes, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and impaired operation of a motor vehicle exceeding blood alcohol concentration.Anyone with information, including dashcam footage, is being asked to contact collision investigators at 905-688-4111, option 3, badge 1009206 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
