The PHEV GLC-Class should bring substantial EV-only range when it arrives mid-year.
It isn't typical that we bring you a first look of a vehicle we've already driven—after all, wasn't that the first look, the drive? In this case,plug-in hybrid late last year in Europe not knowing whether it was destined for our shores. As it turns out, the gas-electricis coming to America, albeit with a name change to GLC350e. It's otherwise exactly the same, mechanically, as the Euro-market version.To recap, that means the GLC350e carries over the GLC300e's turbocharged 2.
Even better, that large-ish battery can be fully recharged via a 60-kW DC fast charger in as little as 30 minutes. "Mercedes me Charge" will be standard, blending integrations with Electrify America, EVgo, and ChargePoint public chargers into a single user experience for more streamlined charging while on the go. This "network" includes 100,000 chargers in America alone.
At least that poundage includes strong standard equipment; namely heated front seats, a power-opening tailgate, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and safety gear such as blind-spot monitoring, automated emergency braking, parking assists, and automatic high beams. Three trim levels will be offered, from the Standard to a mid-level Exclusive to the range-topping Pinnacle .
Final pricing, range, and efficiency figures will be released closer to the GLC350e's on-sale date mid-2024, but look for the plug-in Benz to be a strong contender against the
