The 2024 Mustang offers a new Exit Warning system, which can detect pedestrians and cyclists approaching from the rear. car auto cars
We’re talking about Exit Warning, which activates when the vehicle is shifted into park. It then remains active for up to three minutes after the ignition has been turned off.
Using a radar sensor, the system looks for nearby road users approaching from the rear and traveling at least 4 mph , which is roughly a third of the speed of your typical cyclist. If the system determines an impact could occur if a door is opened, occupants will be warned by an audible alert as well as visual warnings on the instrument cluster and side mirror.
