Tweed Council public information session on the 2023 budget.A public information meeting was held Tuesday night.As it stands now, the proposed overall tax levy increase is about $305,000 or an approximately seven per cent increase compared to 2022.Mayor Don Degenova tells Quinte News that is in line with many other municipalities and that they too are dealing with inflationary pressures.

He notes insurance costs alone have increased almost $78,000 while gas, fuel and diesel costs are increasing almost $134,000.
