Defending national champion Kansas is the top seed in the West Region. Can the Jayhawks head back to the Final Four?
Even though the Kansas Jayhawks lost to Texas in the Big 12 tournament Saturday night, they’re still one of the top teams in the country.Kansas came into the Big 12 tournament No. 6 in NET Rankings and No. 1 in NET strength of schedule, racking up 17 Quadrant 1 wins, which is the most in the country.
The No. 2 seed in the West bracket is UCLA , led by star guard Jaime Jaquez Jr., who averages 17.4 points and 8 rebounds per game, both good enough to put in him in the top five in the Pac-12 in each category. The Bruins are +1200 to win the national championship. Iona, led by Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino, is fresh off a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament championship and has won 14 games in a row.Perhaps overshadowing this matchup on the court is the story line off of it.
