Chassitti Holt from Clear Brook High School poses with her grand champion steer at the 2022 Livestock Show and Auction.The Clear Creek ISD Livestock Show and Auction is hoping for another record-setting year as students and their animals prepare for center stage.
The swine show is set for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 17. The rabbit and poultry show will be at 8 p.m. Jan. 18, followed by the shows for lambs, goats, steers and heifers. On Jan. 19, buyer registration will be at 5 p.m., with the live auction at 6 p.m. The highest bid at last year’s event was $12,500 for the reserve champion steer, raised by Clear Brook High School student Naomi Browning.
Riley A. Castle, a Clear Brook High School senior, will be showing her goat, Ivan. Ivan is Castle's third goat to show at the livestock show since her freshman year. She also raised three does. "This year’s journey has gone by fast, but has been so good," she said."I have learned so many valuable life lessons this year while overcoming challenges and pushing through to the finish. I am so excited to show off all of the hard work Princess and I have put in."
