Three people, including a toddler, were critically injured in a South Side crash, officials said.
Three people were critically injured after a driver ran a red light on Monday afternoon in the city's Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.A 22-year-old man was driving a red SUV westbound on 87th Street and ran a red light, police said. The SUV hit the passenger side of a sedan, which was traveling northbound on Vincennes Avenue.
Police said the SUV also struck the side bumper another SUV, which was traveling southbound on Vincennes Avenue. The red SUV then hit a pole and stopped. Two women, who were passengers in the red SUV, were transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition, police said. A 2-year-old boy, also a passenger in that SUV, was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition.The Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
