Christian Enrico and Liam Pakonis, who were students at Wayne Hills High School in Passaic County, died in a crash on Friday.
Two high school students from Passaic County were killed Friday in a traffic crash on Friday, officials said.
Christian Enrico and Liam Pakonis, were students at Wayne Hills High School. Enrico, 17, was a junior at the high school and had five siblings,“I express our deepest condolences on the tragic loss of two of our high school students, Christian Enrico and Liam Pakonis, who tragically passed away,” Wayne Board of Education President Donald Pavlak, Jr. said in a statementDetails surrounding the crash – including where it occurred – were not immediately available early Monday.
“Both were my childrens’ classmates and Liam was my son’s teammate on the Wayne Hills Swim Team,” township Councilwoman Fran Ritter said in a social media post. “My family and I send our prayers and deepest condolences to their families, classmates, teachers, coaches and to all who loved them,” she said. “I am sorry as are our entire Patriot community.”
In emails to parents on Sunday, Principal Michael Rewick extended condolences to “the entire Patriot community,”
