Two people were found dead inside a Soldotna cabin Sunday after the propane oven had been left on, Alaska State Troopers said.
Authorities were called to the one-bedroom cabin at 7:37 p.m. and found 61-year-old Mary Beltz and 64-year-old Michael Hanno dead, troopers wrote in a“A preliminary investigation by troopers determined that a propane oven had been inadvertently left in the on position while it was not lit filling the cabin with propane,” troopers wrote in the statement.
The State Medical Examiner Office will conduct autopsies on Beltz and Hanno’s remains, troopers said.
