That racing success came with Hudson's 308-cubic-inch flathead straight-six engine under the hood, but this car has a pushrod Buick straight-eight instead of the original plant.
The later examples of this engine made 170 smooth horsepower, 25 more than the original Hudson engine, so this swap made sense.The license plate indicates that this car left the road at age ten and has spent the last 60 years in retirement.The interior is nasty after all those decades of exposure to the elements, but the body seems reasonably solid. Perhaps someone will rescue this car!
