Daily News | Teen shot near Duckrey School in North Philly
A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized in stable condition after he was shot Friday evening in North Philadelphia, police said.
Around 6 p.m., the teen was with several other juveniles walking west on Edgely Street from 16th Street when at least 10 shots were fired at them from behind, said Capt. John Walker, commanding officer of a new citywide unit that investigates non-fatal shootings. The teen was shot once in the buttocks. He was transported by responding officers to Temple University Hospital.
The group was walking to a party when the gunfire erupted, Walker said. It was unclear if the teen was the target and the motive was unknown. No arrests were reported. The shooting scene was located near Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey Public School, but the victim had no connection there, Walker said.
