Tragic update: Aurora police say a 12-year-old boy was killed and a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a shooting in Aurora Friday afternoon.
The Aurora Police Department issued a tweet at 3:27 p.m. saying officers were investigating a shooting in the 900 block of North Zion Street.
Initially, Aurora police said one adult and one juvenile were shot. In a later tweet, Aurora police said both victims are juvenile males. Around 6:51 p.m., Aurora PD issued a tweet saying a 12-year-old boy died from his injuries, and a 14-year-old boy remains hospitalized with serious injuries. Investigators determined shots were fired from a silver Acura sedan that sped off after the shooting.Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
