Which movies aren't as good as people say?

However, it happens surprisingly often.
The Notebook The Notebook benefits from having been released at a time when romantic comedies were going through a major reinvention, and this type of charming story was at an all-time high in popularity. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling were both hugely popular and attracted big audiences to the project. In reality, the movie doesn’t do much that isn’t seen in every other successful rom-com today.
Forrest Gump There have been several bad winners of the Best Picture Oscar over the years, and while Forrest Gump isn’t strictly the worst, it definitely didn’t deserve to be crowned as the best movie of 1994. While many audiences hold strong amounts of nostalgia for the project, and Hanks is admittedly great in the lead role, it’s essentially just a regular drama with a pretty compelling romance at its heart.
The Greatest Showman The Greatest Showman is another example of a movie where one aspect excels, but the rest falls behind. This time, it’s the music that’s deserving of all the praise it receives. There’s a reason the soundtrack was so popular and the songs found themselves playing all over the radio, but the movie itself wasn’t as incredible as the music’s success would have people remember.
