111 Minna GalleryFor their October exhibition 11 Minna Gallery will be showcasing two powerhouses in the art world, Jay Howell and Attaboy. Jay Howell will be displaying his solo exhibition ‘Here Comes the Howellman’ in 111 Minna’s 2nd Street Gallery. Attaboy will be displaying his solo exhibition ‘Portal’ in 111 Minna’s Zappa Gallery.
Exposed to Punk music and Skateboard culture at an early age. Howell immediately identified with their shared DIY ethos, inspiring him to self-publish his own zines, cartoons, animations and skateboard graphics. Best known for his work as the character designer for Fox’s hit show “Bob’s Burgers”. Howell is also known for his success as the co-creator, art director and executive producer of “Sanjay And Craig”; an animated children’s show for Nickelodeon.
In 2005 artists Annie Owens and Attaboy co-founded Hi-Fructose magazine, which has become a best selling art magazine with a global reach. In 2009, in order to better define the scope of the magazine, New Contemporary Art was added to the masthead. Since then, the term has been adopted by many galleries, museums and artists.
