UPDATE: 11-year-old girl hit by stray bullet in Longwood section of the Bronx has died. DBrennanTV has the latest on the investigation. NYPD
The tragedy happened at 166th Street and and Fox Street in the Longwood section of the borough, CBS2's Dick Brennan reported.
"We were waiting to get our nails done when I heard gunshots, two of them, pop pop," resident Maya Jones said. Jones and friend Lillian Johnson said a third woman put compresses on the little girl's wound until the ambulance arrived. She was then raced to Lincoln Hospital, where she later died. Police said they are searching for the men captured on video, but don't have a great picture of the gunman because they were flying by on the scooter. So, they are asking for anyone who might have seen something in the area to reach out to them.
