There’s a reason the Dr. Martens’s Jadon boot, which turns 10 this month, continues to dominate street style, especially amongst stars like Lil Nas X, Bella Hadid, and Miley Cyrus.

The bolder, heftier Jadon style features an 8-eye silhouette, smooth leather upper, and PVC outsole complete with the brand’s signature yellow stitching. “While the brief was to create something completely new, it was super important that key things like our grooved sole, the yellow welt stitch, eight eyelets, and black heel loop,” says Dr. Martens’s global creative director, Darren McKoy, of the design.
It helps that A-listers have adopted the boot from the get-go. An early adoptee in the 2010s was the model and It girl Agyness Deyn, who has served as a consistent muse to Dr. Martens over the years. “It genuinely felt like she was part of the design team—a true partnership, and one that saw her build and craft a new collection that included creepers, knee-highs, and the now famous Quad sole,” says McKoy.
